Taylor Swift Releases 'Lover' Video One Day Before Album Release

We are mere hours away from hearing Taylor Swift's seventh album, Lover, which drops at midnight tomorrow (August 23). But before we get to hear all the songs, the pop icon dropped the music video for the album's title track.

The video came after the "You Need To Calm Down" singer chatted to fans about the upcoming album as well as her clothing collection with fashion designer Stella McCartney (who she name drops in one of the new songs!)

In a recent YouTube Live, she said the inspiration for the video came from the 1989 song "You Are In Love" and the line "...so it goes you two are dancing in a snow globe, 'round and 'round." The video opens with a little girl unwrapping a snow globe by a Christmas tree and zooming in to show different colored rooms inside a house.

From swimming in a giant fish bowl, playing Scrabble, and slow dancing, each room shows Swift and her leading man (Christian Owens, one of Swift's dancers on her reputation Stadium Tour) going through the ups and downs (but mostly ups) of a relationship.

Swift just dropped the news on GMA today (August 22) that she will be opening the VMAs this coming Monday (August 26). And if her performance and a new album still isn't enough, starting next year, Swift said she is actually going to start re-recording and re-releasing music from previous albums. We are truly blessed.

Fans can tune in to hear Taylor talk about all things Lover on Friday, August 23rd at 8pm ET/5pm PT on iHeartRadio Pop, Hot AC and AC stations, as well as on Taylor Swift: Lover Radio on the iHeartRadio app. And in case you missed anything, Swifties can hear the special on Taylor Swift: Lover Radio every 30 minutes, all weekend long.
