I wasn't sure what the scene was going to be like outside the Arizona State Capital this morning among the other 800+ March For Our Lives rallys across the country. I got up early on a Saturday and went without any hesitation. When we got there, you could see all the signs, shirts, and this collected feeling of people collectively wanting to make a common change for the better on top of getting people registered to vote.
There were people there directly affected by gun violence, people who lost someone, people who want to join the movement and make a difference. It was inspiring to hear high school students speak and even be the ones who were able to put this all together. Across the country, teens are coming together for a common purpose.
These walks were organized following the shooting at Parkland, Florida last Valentine's Day that took the lives of 17 teachers, staff, and students. Seeing how fast this all came together is remarkable and inspiring.
