Meet 4-year-old, Sonny Mead. He was diagnosed with craniosynostosis.
According to the NY Post, this is what craniosynostosis is:
"Causes the skull bones to fuse prematurely, impacting brain growth. Sonny had pieces of his skull removed to give his brain more room to grow in 2015, and the bone was supposed to grow back but never did."
Today they will be performing a surgery for him with a 3-D printer to replace the bone.
This would of course cause him to miss his favorite holiday, Halloween. His neighborhood heard about the news and decided to have an early Halloween just for him so he wouldn't miss out! This just feels me all the feelings right now! Such a sweet gesture for this kid who has gone through a lot and will continue to do so. But Superman really fits for a costume for this young man!
