Just as I was looking forward to strawberry season, I get hit with this big blow - that strawberries along with kale and spinach at the contaminated the most with pesticides according to Delish.
This intel comes a study done by the Environmental Working Group this is what they found:
"Overall, the USDA found 225 different pesticides and pesticide breakdown products on popular fruits and vegetables Americans eat every day. Before testing, all produce was washed and peeled, just as people would prepare food for themselves, which shows that simple washing does not remove all pesticides."
They call their list - the "Dirty Dozen" which is filled of top 12 foods with most pesticides!
And believe it or not, but there is actually a clean list too!
- Avocados
- Sweet corn
- Pineapples
- Cabbages
- Onions
- Sweet peas (frozen)
- Papayas
- Asparagus
- Mangoes
- Eggplants
- Honeydew melons
- Kiwis

Maybe it's time to start eating "CLEAN" fruit and veggies!
