As these Australian brush fires continue to ravage the country... many animals who are caught in the middle are now struggling to find food that was once everywhere. Much like the brush-tailed rock-wallabies, which is an endangered species. So the solution was simple, drop food from helicopters to the areas affected by the fires to help starving animals.
According to Delish,
So far, more than 4,500 pounds of carrots and sweet potatoes have been dropped across six different colonies in the Capertee and Wolgan valleys, their site confirms.
According to ABC, wallabies often survive fires like these, but they struggle to survive in the scorched aftermath. I'm so happy they're doing this for these animals!
