Math teacher visits student's homes for homework help while distancing

Math Teacher visits students homes to help with homework while practicing social distancing

A sixth grade math teacher, Chris Waba, is continuing to help his students by coming to their homes and teaching them at a distance. It started after one of his students and him kept emailing back and forth about a math problem. The student, Rylee Anderson, still didn’t understand the problem so Waba walked to her house with a whiteboard.

"We had really tried to work through it digitally, but you can just tell when you need to do something else," Waba told "Good Morning America." I had the whiteboard that I brought home, and I just said, 'I’ll be over in a couple of minutes.'"

He spent a good amount of time kneeling outside her front door and explaining the problem on the whiteboard. Her parents were ecstatic that he went above and beyond to help their daughter.
