Phoenix City Council passes measure to limit number of passengers on buses

The Phoenix City Council passed a measure that will limit the number of passengers on local bus routes.

For a traditional 40-foot bus, passengers will be limited to ten. For a 60-foot bus, they will be limited to 15 and for the smaller circulator buses, the limit will be five passengers. Exceptions will be made for wheelchair and mobility aid users.

"So that people can be protected to the greatest extent possible to help flatten the curve and keep the spread from going further," said Mario Paniagua, City of Phoenix Deputy City Manager.

As of now, Phoenix already requires passengers to board at the back to help stop the spread to it's drivers.
