Well, this is exciting news for fast food fans. Taco Bell is reportedly testing out a number of new menu items priced at just $1.
According to Thrillist, the $1 offerings are currently limited to trial runs in certain cities. While these menu items may not be widely available nationwide right now, these trial runs give Taco Bell fans an idea of what's on the horizon. If the new $1 items do well at their test locations, it's likely Taco Bell will follow with a wider rollout later this year.
In the Columbus, Ohio area, Taco Bell is testing out $1 Spicy Tacos. The Spicy Tacos are available in mild jalapeño, medium chipotle, and white-hot ranch varieties. The white-hot ranch is made with Ghost Chili peppers, so, be warned that it will be pretty spicy.
If you live in the Houston, Texas area, you'll be able to try out Taco Bell's Grilled Cheese Stackers for just $2.49. This menu item includes a layer of seasoned beef, a three-cheese blend, and nacho cheese sauce in a thrice-folded flour tortilla. Taco Bell tops this item off with a grilled three-cheese blend, which will remind customers of the fan-favorite Grilled Cheese Burrito.
Primo Burritos are being tested out in the Kansas City, Missouri area. The Primo Burrito is available two ways: the $1 Loaded Taco Primo Burrito and the $1.49 Chicken Enchilada Primo Burrito. The Loaded Taco Primo Burrito consists of seasoned beef, crunchy red strips, reduced-fat sour cream, and cheddar cheese in a flour tortilla, while the Chicken Enchilada Primo Burrito includes grilled chicken, reduced-fat sour cream, seasoned rice, cheddar cheese, and enchilada sauce in a flour tortilla.
Folks in Cleveland, Ohio will be able to try out the $2.99 Chicken Enchilada Grilled Cheese Burrito, which consists of chicken, seasoned rice, a three-cheese blend, crunchy red strips, enchilada sauce, and reduced-fat sour cream wrapped in a flour tortilla that's topped with a layer of grilled cheese. Like the Grilled Cheese Stackers, this menu item is also reminiscent of the popular Grilled Cheese Burrito.
Last but certainly not least, Taco Bell is testing out three different Stacked Bowls at locations in Portland, Oregon. These items are the priciest of the new items at the $4-$5 range. Here are the three Stacked Bowls being tested out, according to Thrillist:
- Stacked Taco Bowl ($4.49): a double portion of seasoned beef, refried beans, seasoned rice, a purple cabbage and lettuce blend, crunchy red strips, reduced-fat sour cream, tomatoes, a three-cheese blend, and guac on top.
- Stacked Avocado Ranch Chicken Bowl ($4.49): a double serving of chicken, black beans, seasoned rice, a purple cabbage and lettuce blend, a three-cheese blend, and avocado ranch sauce.
