The countdown to The Great Impersonator has officially begun! Halsey's new album is set to be released on October 25th, and to celebrate, the singer/songwriter is showing off their impersonator skills by impersonating differing icons to tease her new music until the full album is released.

In a series of photos on Instagram, Halsey is the spitting image of Dolly Parton to tease her song "Hometown." In the photo, Halsey is dressed as Parton on her Rainbow album cover, in her iconic black and gold outfit, and big curly blonde hair. Halsey wrote along with the photos, "The countdown to The Great Impersonator begins. From now till the album drops on October 25th, I will be impersonating a different icon every day and teasing a snippet of the song they inspired."

Halsey added, "THE GREAT IMPERSONATOR #1: the queen DOLLY PARTON !!!!!! TRACK 9: HOMETOWN."

The Great Impersonator is Halsey's fifth studio album following 2021's If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, and features a whopping 18 new songs, including previously-released tracks like "Lucky," "Lonely Is The Muse" and "Ego."

In a message on social media, Halsey explained of The Great Impersonator, "I made this record in the space between life and death. And it feels like I’ve waited an eternity for you to have it. I’ll wait a bit longer. I’ve waited a decade, already."
