Chris Martin Pokes Fun At 'Scandal' While Helping Fan Propose At Concert

Chris Martin was feeling the love at a recent concert.

The Coldplay frontman took some time during the band's show at Wembley Stadium on Friday (August 22) to help with a fan's proposal after noticing a man on the Jumbotron holding up a sign that read "I want to propose" with an arrow pointing toward the woman in front of him, per People.

While Martin was game to aid in the special moment, he couldn't resist poking fun at the recent kiss cam "debacle" and "do some basic security checks" first.

"Is this person your partner? Yes? No one else's partner?" he asked, and the man assured they were indeed together. Martin then continued, "Are you cousins or siblings, or anything weird like that? Are you AI? Are you real people? Okay, then I think we can continue."

After seemingly getting all the assurances he needed, Martin advised the man to "get down on one knee" and pop the question to the smiling bride-to-be, which he did, sealing the deal with a kiss. The sweet moment wrapped up with a congratulations from Martin, who wished the couple well.

"Congratulations, my brother and my sister," he said. "What a beautiful girl. What a wonderful guy. On a day like this, I encourage you to kiss. I hope you're happy until the day that you die."

The positive Jumbotron interaction had a much different outcome than the viral "kiss cam" scandal at the band's concert in Boston last month, which caught former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and former Astronomer HR executive Kristin Cabot allegedly having an affair. They have both since resigned from the software company.

Martin cheekily addressed the "internationally massive scandal" during one of the band's recent shows and set the record straight about one major detail.
