Sean "Diddy" Combs, the renowned hip hop mogul, will be released from prison earlier than previously expected. Initially sentenced to 50 months at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey for prostitution-related charges, Combs' release date has been adjusted several times. According to the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons, he is now set to be released on February 5, 2028, two weeks earlier than the most recent estimate.
Combs, who maintains his innocence regarding the charges, was originally scheduled for release in June 2028. However, his sentence has been adjusted multiple times due to various factors, including alleged incidents in prison. In November 2025, his release was delayed by a month amid allegations of alcohol consumption in prison, which his representatives denied. More recently, a prison altercation reportedly resulted in a delay to February 20, 2028, before the latest adjustment moved it forward again.
Combs, 56, has been participating in rehabilitation programs and is appealing his conviction. He was found guilty of transporting women, including former girlfriends, for prostitution. Despite being acquitted of more serious charges like racketeering, he still faces numerous civil lawsuits. Combs has expressed a desire to overturn his conviction and continues to seek legal remedies.
