When actress Daniella Garcia and Stephen Borrello first got engaged, they set their wedding date for May 16th, 2020. But like a lot of couples, they were forced to change their plans because of the coronavirus and postponed the big event until next year. But they still wanted to celebrate their original wedding date in a tiny gathering with the family members they’d been quarantining with, so they started planning.
But the bride soon found out she couldn’t get her wedding gown because it was locked in a department store because of the pandemic. So instead she opted to wear her mother’s custom Eric de Juan wedding dress from 1982. Daniella completed the look with a vintage Juliet cap veil that she now plans to replicate with her actual wedding dress for the 2021 nuptials.
For this intimate ceremony, her father walked her through the backyard to the rose garden where Stephen was waiting while The Beatles “And I Love Her” played. The bride’s brother served as officiant and the couple’s dog served as their ring bearer. It wasn’t the big wedding they had planned initially, but Daniella says, “We both felt grateful that we were all healthy, safe, and able to still celebrate our love during this difficult time.”
