Tina Nguyen got married last year in her dream dress, and now she’s hoping to do the same for other brides. Last week she offered to loan her $2,000 Paloma Blanca gown to other brides via a post on Facebook Marketplace.
"I absolutely loved my wedding dress, it was one of the best parts of being a bride,” she wrote in her ad. “If you are planning your wedding, or know someone who is, and can not afford a wedding dress, please connect with me. I’ll lend my dress for the bride for her big day.”
Tina says she decided to offer up her dress because she wanted to “just do something,” especially with so many brides having to navigate planning a wedding during a pandemic. As she noticed a bunch of her friends going through the stress she thought, “I have a pretty sweet wedding dress just sitting in my closet."
Tina getting her dress was actually the result of the kindness from an American family who had “adopted” her after she graduated from Augsburg University. It was actually too expensive for her to buy but they helped her pay for the gown, so now she's paying it forward.
